Are exams necessary ???

Examinations are not only traumatic but also unnecessary. Should our entire life be hanging on tender hooks on these make or break situations ?  Suppose a student is thorough with the subject but say is not well during the exam time and doesn’t fare well, does that mean that he / she is a dunce.  Even during recruitment only the marks and not the person’s ability to perform is judged.   It is utter nonsense and has to be done away with.

poem corner :sweet nature

Why is Nature so Good ?

That it provides us with shelter and food

Why are the trees so green ?

When we humans are so mean.

We cut down trees and kill animals

We don’t even spare big mammals

But Nature is still friendly with us

The bees gives us this message when they buzz

Why is Nature is so beautiful ?

So generous and so beautiful

Why is Nature so nice ?

It gives us everything including spice

PLEASE PROMISE ME NOT TO SPOIL NATURE

ANY MORE IN FUTURE

Reflections- Valentine’s Day - The Reality -II

Filed under: my write ups — @ 6:27 pm

St. Valentine helped many young men get secretly married as the then Roman Emperor, Claudius II, in around the year 270, cancelled all engagements and marriages to encourage men to join his military leagues. St. Valentine suffered martyrdom for this act on this day.Love is natural and the basis of human life. We need to express ourselves and share our love with our parents, relatives, spouses, friends, teachers, etc. This is not to be condemned. SIO condemns cultural invasion and the corporatization of our values. SIO believes that love is too pure to be publicized. The West is suffering from the evils of sexual anarchy, broken up families and a contraceptive culture. We are slowly, but steadily moving towards the same with activities like these. Finally, it is the choice of the individual. It is upto you to decide to choose your identity and values or to compromise on the most valuable asset of yourself - your ORIGINALITY…….

Reflections- Valentine’s Day - The Reality -I

Filed under: my write ups — @ 6:26 pm

After years of living in our country, we have built a common thread of culture. We have shook hands with the outside world. We adopted Western traditions of dressing, food and their technology. Now the greater question is, are we willing to identify and maintain an identity of our own?Millions of rupees are made by the huge Corporates through cards, roses, parties, SMSes, TV shows, ads, etc. especially designed for this day. Sadly, the price of corporate success is our cultural identity. So what happens on this day? Dating, flirting, dancing, drinking and softer and harder events are commonplace. Unfortunately, they’re not on the news channels or on the papers.
